Learning dialogue on rabies, One Health, and Information and Communication Technologies: Spotlight on SIRVERA & GARC tools

2 October 2025 : 14.30-16.00 CET

Description

This webinar hosted by the Information and Communication Technology for One Health Community of Practice will showcase two digital tools that strengthen rabies surveillance and control – an important example of how cross-sector data integration supports One Health. It is the first in a series on ICTs supporting national One Health information systems and knowledge sharing.

This session will highlight two key platforms:

  • SIRVERA – the Pan American Health Organization’s regional system for rabies surveillance and data sharing.
  • GARC Data Platform – tools from the Global Alliance for Rabies Control for local and national monitoring, vaccination planning, and capacity building.

Through demonstrations and case studies, you will gain practical insights into how these tools improve surveillance, decision-making, interoperability, and long-term sustainability of health data systems.

What you’ll gain from this webinar

  • Learn how rabies serves as a One Health example of integrated data flow across sectors.
  • Get an inside look at the features and functions of SIRVERA and the GARC Data Platforms.
  • Hear real-world country case studies showing how rabies surveillance works in practice.
  • Understand the data structures and workflows that enable effective cross-sectoral sharing.
  • Exchange experiences with peers and explore opportunities to strengthen interoperability, capacity building, and long-term maintenance of One Health data systems, using rabies as an example.
